Mrs Xu' Classroom: International Festival At Kenston

On April 2, 2011, Saturday, Kenston Local Schools International Festivals were held at the cafeteria in the high school. Chinese Club, French Club, Russian Club and Spainish Club all set up their booths and attracted lots of students and parents to come.

As the advisor of the Chinese Club, my Chinese students and I both spent a lot of time on coming up the ideas and preparing for the posters. Mr. Wang and some of the parents came to help set up the booths.

We had language learning center. My Chinese student Kayla was there to teach whoever was interested in Chinese. Any tryer got a Chinese bookmark and if the one who could retell 3 or more sentences from his/her memory after learning got a Chinese knot as a gift. More than 40 students tried to learn Chinese like:你好。你好吗？我很好。谢谢。再见。我爱你。

Here's the food center, students tried some sweets, rice crakers, and Mahua, and I cooked 3 bags of dumplings for them. All the food and snacks are very popular for the Chinese Spring festival.

All the food was very ppopular, especially the dumplings. All the 90 dumplings were eaten up and some came back and asked me where to get them.

Here came the Culture center. I used the culture reports from my Chinese One and Two and displayed them on the post boards and on the table. The visitors who were interested read them by themselves.

Here are the culture display from the parents who went to China. One is Beijing Scenery and the other is 36 Ji on the bamboo. All the visitors felt amased about them.

Here is the Game Center, the most popular center. Students and parents tried kicking up the shuttlelock continously 10 times, making the dancing handkerchief whirling, fnishing map quzzles and picking up 10 peanuts in 10 minutes. Many of the students won a Chinese gift and enjoyed the game a lot.
